Description: Alternative Horizons’ crisis hotline is staffed by a group of volunteer advocates that have undergone at least 30 hours of training specific to intimate-partner abuse and local resources that assist survivors. The hotline is available to: -Support callers in times of crisis -Provide a safe place for callers and create a safety plan specific to each caller's situation and needs; -Help educate friends and family about the dynamics of domestic violence; -Provide callers with information and referrals regarding AH services, counseling, protection orders and related proceedings, financial aid, housing, community resources and general service -Make arrangements for advocates to meet clients receiving medical attention and to assist in acquiring civil protection orders.
